Established in 2013, Holtkamp Winery is a family owned true Estate winery.  Doug Holtkamp started making wine in 2002 stemming from his love and enjoyment of drinking wine with friends and family.  This continued passion led him to starting his own winery.  By teaming up with Jeff McCann, who has over 40 years in the winemaking and grape growing industry, they combine their knowledge and experience to create award winning, handcrafted wines.

In 2014, we participated at our first wine festival "The Indiana Wine Fair" in Story, Indiana, and now travel throughout Southeast, Indiana to many wine festivals and wine walks throughout the year.  Also in 2014, we began selling our wines at local stores, and continue to expand our wines in stores and restaurants throughout Southeast, Indiana and Ohio.

 

We welcomed our first guests into our tasting room in 2015 originally opened weekends only, and in 2017 we extended our hours to Wednesday through Sunday year-round.

In 2018, we were named Indiana Farm Winery of the Year (less than 50,000 gallons).  What an honor it was to receive this award! 

 

In the Spring of 2020 (when COVID restrictions started) we began selling carry-out pizza's on the weekends.  Now you can purchase Brick Oven Pizza Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.

 

We proudly produce and bottle all of our wines. Growing 17 different varieties of grapes on our 6 acre Estate vineyards, sourcing grapes from some of the best viticulture areas in California, and Oregon, and bringing in juice from Midwest grown fruit Doug and Jeff make a great selection of wines ranging from the classic dry and semi-dry reds and whites, to sweet fruit, bourbon barrel aged and specialty wines.

Our family friendly winery offers a unique country setting with lake and vineyard views from our covered patio and picnic areas.  We invite you to come visit us and enjoy a bottle of Holtkamp wine and Brick Oven pizza with your friends and family!

Avery Vineyard, named after our daughter, is a three-acre Estate vineyard planted in 2013 and expanded in 2015.  Located in  the upper elevations of Dearborn County, in the Ohio Valley viticulture area, Avery Vineyard grows a broad range of grape varietals including Catawba, Chardonnay, Cayuga, Concord, Dornfelder, Marquette, Niagara, Noiret, Osceola Muscat, Petite Amie, Seyval Blanc, Steuben, Traminette, and Vidal Blanc.
